As I own a pretty Canon EOS 400D, I was looking for a comfortable method of downloading the taken pictures to my PC. Fortunately my PC features an internal multi card reader slot, worth to mention that this device is basically grap. It made several SD cards unreadable und provides unacceptable low performance. Hence I was looking for a cheap, small external device offering high read/write speeds.
After reading a nice article on the web, I decided to look a bit closer at the Kingston HS2 19/1 also cause it was available at the shop next to my office with a great price (<20€). The device supports all more or less interesting memory card types, like CF1+2 (MD), micro/mini/ SD(HC), Memory Sticks and MMCs. Furthermore it offers awesome performance. The 1GB CF card was read like a hard disc drive in the late 90’s. Kingston provides a tool, that helps you identifying the drive-slot relation in Windows explorer.
For a few bucks worth to recommend!
